Students Had Time To Make Footage Before Attacking Teacher

21.10.2026 - A male student of an international school here had made a video recording before the incident of a teacher trying to snatch a sharp object from him, this morning. The video, allegedly recorded by the student before the incident, was also circulated on social media, thus gaining the attention of many, however the content and true purpose of the recording is still under investigation by the authorities. Additionally, there is an account on X claiming that the attack was live-streamed on a forum but the account was blocked. In the incident this morning, the student was reported to have brought a sharp object to the school grounds before a teacher tried to snatch it.

The incident left the teacher injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment, while the student was successfully restrained before being taken to the principal's office. The police then arrived at the school and took over the handling of the case, while the parents of the students were also contacted by the school. Sarawak acting police commissioner Deputy Commissioner Saifullizan Ishak confirmed the incident, but denied allegations that an axe was used, instead explaining that the object was a pen knife.

Meanwhile, an inspection of the student's bag also found one item that required further inspection, and it is now being handled by the police. No other injuries have been reported so far, and as a safety measure, the school ordered the premises to be temporarily closed to allow for an investigation, in addition to asking parents to pick up their children early. Students who were near the scene were also evacuated to ensure their safety.
