They use mum in Australia, too. Even in the US, different words are used depending where you live. While a pop in some states is what we call soda, ask a female for a pop here and you may get slapped! Happened to a guy I knew from Indiana visiting Pennsylvania. When I was in Tennessee, a salesperson kept asking me if I wanted a sack. I had no clue what she meant until she held up what I know as a bag. A *** in the UK is a cigarette. Here, it is a derogatory word for a gay man. |

in my neck of the woods all carbonated drinks are refered to as coke. not soda, pop or soda pop. just coke. as in "i want a coke." "what kind?" "a pepsi."
