i'm afraid so. There is no rescue vehicle that can go as deep as the Titanic. Even military rescue subs only reach around 2000ft. The Titanic is over 12,000 ft deep. The sub had 96 hours of air. And communications have been lost. |

I think they’re literally 2 or three miles under the surface. That’s an insane amount of pressure. If there was a hull breach, I don’t think they’d even have the time to feel it. But if they’re stuck that’s ultra shitty. 96 hours of life support- that’s plenty of time to know what’s happening.  |

its a "prototype", cough Most of those ultra deep roaming vessels have a ball shaped core, to withstand pressure equally. this seems like 2 half balls and a cylinder in between.  this craft has done some dives already, but the killer is: the maintenance due to survival time of parts is very short. just like the Titanic, the devil is in the low quality rivets. these parts must bend, but never break, so the homogenity of the alloy or mixture is crucial. |

It seems like only country that makes fasteners any more is China, that haven of manufacturing specs. So yeah, I would bet on rivet failure too.  |

some facts: - this year the weather was the worst since decades, so the sub had only 1 succesful dive reaching T. - in the deep there is no gps, no radio, only text msg - the sub's pinger has not been signaled, yet - the toilet on board is a plastic zip bag |
