Gotta stop you there: a witness' credibility can often be destroyed without touching their character. Your witness could be a little old lady who abides by the law, has raised upstanding kids, hasn't slept with anyone else but her husband, and hasn't missed a single church Sunday...but if she's as blind as a bat, or senile, then she's not a very credible witness.
