Two thrill-seeking pensioners with a thirst for speed have become Britain’s oldest stunt riders with a combined age of 158.
Seb Craig, 75, and Patricia Kane, 83, are the stars of a new TV advert racing on specially-modified 80mph mobility scooters.
Their buggies, which normally have a top speed of just 8mph, had 125cc motorbike engines fitted for a new TV ad promoting bingo website Jackpotjoy.
The couple went head-to-head on the world's fastest mobility scooters, with the stunt made even more dangerous due to falling rain
'It was definitely very exhilarating although a bit uncomfortable at times in the rain,' explained Ms Kane.
'Although I've been acting all of my life this was certainly something quite new and exciting for me.
'Riding the scooter felt a little bit like being on a rollercoaster at a fairground because I wasn't really in control.'
She added: 'My friend's grandchildren now think I'm very cool after I told them that I had gone 50mph on a mobility scooter.
'And when I told my friends about the advert, their reaction was "what is she going to do next, climb Everest?".'
Former Eastenders actress Barbara Windsor also makes a cameo appearance in the new ad, which her co-actor Mr Craig said was 'great fun'.
