COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Police say they arrested a College Station woman Wednesday after she paid someone she thought was a hit man to kill the father of her 7-year-old son, according to CBS affiliate KBTX.
Nicolette Beard, 33, allegedly agreed to pay an undercover officer $4,000 to kill 30-year-old Anthony Drymalla III.

KBTX reports College Station police got a tip about the case when one of Beard's friends told them about the woman's plan.

The motive behind the murder-for-hire plot was a custody battle between the parents, according to police.

Authorities reportedly said, on September 25, the informant took Beard's son to a store while the woman sat inside a vehicle in the parking lot with the undercover officer to discuss the murder plan.

The station reports a probable cause statement released Thursday says Beard made several offhand comments about Drymalla and that she wanted it done by Friday, the day of the custody hearing.

Lt. Lesley Hicks reportedly said, "She wanted to get some money from an ATM, but it didn't work so she said she had cash at home. So they drove back to her house where she got $800 and a driver's license with the target's picture on it."

Beard was arrested without incident after allegedly giving a down payment to the undercover officer. She is now being held at a the Brazos County Jail on a $100,000 bond, according to KBTX.
