Re: Texas to Stop Last Meal Requests for Death Row Inmates

I support ending the last meal thing, however I SERIOUSLY doubt it's the answer to the money for schools problem, unless we are executing tens of thousands of prisoners a day and all of them request the most expensive caviar and 50 lobsters each as their last meal.

He requested two chicken fried steaks, a triple cheeseburger, a pound of barbecue and a pint of ice cream. He's a bastard for not eating it, but let's be honest. That sets the state of TX back what $20? If it costs more than that, then that proves the point of government overspending.

The solution to the school financial problem is the same as the answer to all other financial problems with the government both local and national and even international. That is that they need to start learning how to operate on the goddamned 50% tax that we all pay (including all taxes, not just straight up income tax). The Boston tea party happened because of a THREAT of a 10% government tax.

How gullible we are today. Hell we'll even vote to have our own stupid selves taxed even higher because the government tells us that it's for our own good.
20 bucks? That probably covered the BBQ.

They should feed them fast food for a month and in this way save the costs of a lethal injection.

$20 for a pound of barbeque? Wow, invite me to your next cookout if you use meat that expensive. Ok, so what do you think the total would be? $25? $30? My point still stands. It's a small amount of money, but evidently enough to spark an international news frenzy.

How much do you think the cost for housing alone for his last 24 hours was? I can't remember, but I think the average is around $150 on a typical day. I just don't see the big deal about the money aspect of it, although I believe it should be abolished simply because their victims didn't have a chance for a last meal request.

I could continue on and on. For instance if it's about saving money, why use lethal injection or the electric chair when it costs thousands of dollars? Just use a bullet that costs about 10 cents and be done with it!

So this all boils down to money? Fair enough. These men are in there to be punished for heinious crimes, why be granted a last meal? I may sound harsh, I know, but I'm a tough old bird in my attitude towards ruthless criminals.

Death by hot apple pie, Big Mac, large fries, coffee and Big Breakfast OD? That sounds like my ideal way to croak it

Re: Texas to Stop Last Meal Requests for Death Row Inmates

The not eating of the last meal indicates a persons innocence. The majority of people who might be wrongfully convicted tend not to eat. He may not be as quilty as thought. ? ...

Re: Texas to Stop Last Meal Requests for Death Row Inmates

I actually support giving inmates a last meal for various reasons. What I don't support is giving them cable, internet, and the ability to communicate with anyone from the outside world, unless they are related or have a prior relationship.

Its hard to feel sorry for an asshole like this guy, but I guess it all boils down to showing a little humanity, even to those who would show you none.
