The Westminster attacker has been named as 52-year-old Khalid Masood, who had a range of previous convictions. While he was born in Kent, detectives believe he had been living most recently in the West Midlands. Police said he had been "known by a number of aliases". British Prime Minister Theresa May said that Masood was known to British intelligence MI5 prior to the attack. In a speech to members of Parliament on March 23, she said that he was “once investigated over concerns about violent extremism.”
