Depends entirely on the indiviual. I'm an American and I never lock any of my doors (unless I'm in the shower). I haven't spent all my life in small towns either. I move around a lot, but my longest residency was in Portland, Oregon, and the population there is more than 2 million. I've never had any trouble because of it, either. When criminals find unlocked doors they often assume someone must be home and leave, or they've already cased your house and know your habits anyway. That's why it's 'breaking-and-entering' not 'wander-around-aimlessly-until-you-find-an-unlocked-door-ing'. You may be a paranoid American, but not all of us are.  |

The dogs have been probably defending their territory. I don't see why any sane person just enters someone else's house with dogs inside. No matter how nice and calm they are when the family is around, not many dogs will tolerate a stranger in their own property when being left alone. Hell, even my own medium-sized lapdog would quite probably rip an intruder's pant to shreds. |

i love dogs but even my little niece we show her to give the dog shit and get them submissive with the help of her other uncles there should be more advertised courses for youth to learn how to handle potentially dangerous animals but there will always be retards that should not have fucking animals in the first place  |
