Teen Impaled by Pitchfork
GARDEN CITY -- Officers are investigating after a teenage boy was impaled with a pitchfork at a Garden City church on Saturday. Investigators with the Garden City Police Department were called to a reported stabbing at around 1 p.m. at Vineyard Christian Church at 4950 N. Bradley Street. Officers say a verbal argument broke out between two teenage boys while several juveniles worked in the church's garden as part of their court ordered community service. As the fight escalated, investigators say the younger of the two teens stabbed the older boy in the upper body, impaling three of the five pitchfork tines. The juveniles were being supervised when the fight broke out. Police say the victim was alert and able to communicate as paramedics treated him at the scene. The victim was then taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center to surgically remove the pitch fork. At last check, the victim was still in surgery. The teen suspected of the stabbing is now booked into the Ada County Juvenile Detention Center on aggravated battery charges. He will be arraigned in juvenile court on Tuesday.  · |
