TBI: DCS Employee Had Child Pornography On Computer
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Department of Children's Services employee has been arrested after it was discovered he was in possession of child pornography. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested 45-year-old Gary Haley, of Murfreesboro, at DCS Central Intake on Kermit Drive on Friday morning. He was charged with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. The TBI searched Haley's apartment on Tremont Drive on Thursday and seized his home computer and other evidence. DCS provided the TBI with Haley's work computer for analysis as well. Haley's neighbors at the Tremont Apartments in Murfreesboro are in shock, but admit the man in unit E-27 pretty much kept to himself. "They need to convict him, is what I think," said neighbor Benjamin Smith. "I don't like it at all, because I've got some kids of my own. I don't like living around people like that at all." He has been a DCS employee since 2002 and worked in the call center. Investigators said it did not appear he had any access to children in DCS care. A DCS spokesman added that Haley did pass a background check when he was hired some nine years ago. That spokesman said Haley's employment status is "restricted," meaning if and when he bonds out of jail he will not be allowed on DCS property. Haley was booked into the Rutherford County Jail on $100,000 bond. The TBI said more charges could be filed against Haley next week. <script type='text/javascript' src='http://www.newschannel5.com/global/video/videoplayer.js?rnd=714284;hostDomain=www.newschann el5.com;playerWidth=480;playerHeight=300;isShowIco n=true;clipId=5717108;flvUri=;partnerclipid=;adTag =News;advertisingZone=;enableAds=true;landingPage= ;islandingPageoverride=false;playerType=STANDARD_E MBEDDEDscript;controlsType=fixed'></script> |

Re: TBI: DCS Employee Had Child Pornography On Computer
This is fucked up. Someone could have put it on his work computer just to get rid of him. If it turns out he's got no kiddy porn on his home computer, they should let him go with a big fuck off apology. Oh, and how is his neighbour's opinion somehow relevant? |

Re: TBI: DCS Employee Had Child Pornography On Computer
The state computers are not set up that way. No one could just upload photos on the computers. My mom works for the Department of Human Services, which also works with Children's Services, and she said there is no way someone could have planted them, unless it was a tech person and that is very unlikely.

Re: TBI: DCS Employee Had Child Pornography On Computer
Believe me it's possible even in the most secure systems... but frankly I think that it's unlikely. The real question that should be asked is why this has made it to the press. With a crime such as this, and others such as rape, shouldn't the accused be assumed innocent along with his privacy respected until proven otherwise? |

Re: TBI: DCS Employee Had Child Pornography On Computer
I found out that this actually happened a good while ago. I asked mom about it and she said she knew about this ages ago. Dont know why it was recently a new headline though. It is kinda creepy though. My mothers office is just an hour from the Childrens Services where he worked. It is possible she "met" that jerk in the past. At meetings and such. |
