Swing Ride Accident

I tried to also load a news clip but had no luck. it wasn't really that good anyway. I want to see the clip of the accident happening if there is one. may take some time for one to surface.

(I have always loved going on this ride, even as an adult if it is the same ride I think it is. there is an old clip I have of a swing ride accident. at this point in time I no longer consider it so safe. i'll pass on ever going on one again.)

NORWALK, Conn. Police in Connecticut say 13 children were injured when a festival swing ride lost power and they fell to the ground.

Authorities say the accident happened Sunday at the Oyster Festival in Norwalk.

Police say most of the children suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene, but several were more seriously hurt and rushed to local hospitals. Their conditions aren't available.

Norwalk police called in the state fire marshal's office to investigate. According to local paper The Hour, the ride is operated by a company called Stewart Amusement of Trumbull.

Officials say the children were in swings on a ride that starts on the ground and rises up into the air when it lost power and the swings fell to the ground.

Police say the festival remains open but all rides are closed, according to CBS New York.

Re: Swing Ride Accident

Too bad it ruined their day. But at least it seems that they weren't that badly hurt.

Re: Swing Ride Accident

Goodness, what a shocking accident to happen. Least no major injuries or fatalities - that we know of anyway

Re: Swing Ride Accident

I love the swings. I was just on them the other day at a theme park. those rides take you really high up. very dangerous if there is an incident. poor kids!
