Been reading up on this. Apparently since the place was categorized as a burial site, and not a funeral home it wouldn't be regularly inspected or held to the same standards. Also there's no one to fine because they couldn't find an executor for the owner's estate, and since no taxes were paid on the property the state repossessed the land and put it up for auction. No one bid on it. This also happens constantly when houses go into foreclosure. It may be on paper somewhere that the bank owns the house, but it could be decades before anything's done with it. |
