Suicide While Handcuffed??
I doubt this.. Police say 21-year-old Chavis Carter shot himself in the head while handcuffed in the back of a police car in Jonesboro, Ark. His family members think it's impossible that he pulled the trigger on himself, and believe the officers were responsible and are trying to cover it up. On Thursday the FBI announced that it will step in to determine what really happened, the Huffington Post reports: Carter suffered a single, fatal gunshot wound to the head. He was detained on Saturday night following a traffic stop in Jonesboro, about 2 1/2 hours north of Little Rock, after officers said they found marijuana and empty baggies. Officers searched him twice, handcuffed him and placed him in the back of a police car, police said. Not long after, police said, he was found slumped over, with his head in his lap and a gunshot wound to the head. "We"ve been asked to get involved," Kim Brunell, a spokeswoman for the FBI"s Little Rock office, told The Huffington Post on Thursday. The bureau's ballistics experts will join the probe, she said. Police said Carter retrieved a gun that he"d concealed, raised it to his head and pulled the trigger. A clear case of suicide, they said. The handcuffs, they said, were "double locked. |

Re: Suicide While Handcuffed??
Depends how he was hand cuffed too. If they hand cuffed him in front then yes most deffiently he can. if in the back depends how flexible he is. BTW double locked means the arm (part with the teeth) of the cuff wont close any more from where it was locked at that wouldnt really matter at all in this case. It would matter if they double locked it with it not as secured and more open you can slip out easily.

Re: Suicide While Handcuffed??
My husband and I were discussing this the other night. I believe it's fully possible. People can slip cuffs, hide things in unimaginable places and it only takes a second to shoot yourself. With some of the crazy shit I've seen, on this site and others, I don't automatically call bullshit on crazy stories like this

Vincent: "Aw man…I shot Marvin in the face." Jules: "Why the fuck'd you do that?!" Vincent: "Well I didn't mean to do it, it was an accident." |

Re: Suicide While Handcuffed??
Carter was arrested, searched a second time and placed in handcuffs in the back of a patrol car. It was at that point, as officers interviewed and released the two other men, that Carter, his hands still cuffed behind his back, fired the fatal shot, police say. Yates said a dashboard-camera video and accounts from unnamed witnesses “tend to support” Baggett and Marsh’s account. The two officers were placed on paid administrative leave, pending results of the probe. Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nati...#ixzz22mK3gFDO As far as them not finding the gun after the searching him twice, look up Ricardo Alfonso Cerna, that guy shot the officer that tried to pull him over twice then somehow concealed a .45 in his waist band and killed himself on camera in the interrogation room as soon as he was alone. Regardless, the arresting officers fucked up big time, I don't see this ending well for them either way. |
