"Suicide by Cop" in Cincinnati

Story

Another sick story of a guy who decided to die in the hands of police. The perpetrator called 911 the first time to report seeing a person with a gun in order to lure police to go to him. He called a second time to make sure someone was on the way. He shot the first responder (Officer Sonny Kim), took the victim's gun, and fired at two other responders until he was seriously injured. Both he and Officer Kim died from their injuries.

As if this wasn't bad enough, the perpetrators' family interrupted the vigil for the fallen officer, believing the "perpetrator," aka "victim"/rapper/gangster should have a place in it as well. Link

Here's a link of the perpetrator's FB page where he shared his intent to die. Note the comments...especially the ones hinting he would be in a "better place" and "with god." Seriously? Even Judas would be more deserving than he.

"Cincinnati man kills police officer working overtime as he 'commits suicide by cop' after leaving last post on Facebook and frantically calling 911 on himself twice
Trepierre Hummons, 21, called 911 on himself in Cincinnati street
He has posted last status that said 'I love every last on of y'all'
Young man shot Officer Sonny Kim, 48, father of three, after he arrived on the scene despite protestations of his mother, who tried to keep them apart
Hummons thought to have shot at second officers before second officer fatally shoots him while his mother tried to save life of Kim as he lie dying
Mayor John Cranley says 'If you want to kill yourself, do it, but you can't take one of our men with you'

A 21-year-old man from Cincinnati is suspected of fatally shooting a 27-year police veteran after posting on Facebook that he loved all of his friends and family and calling 911 on himself.
Haunting phone calls from Trepierre Hummons, 21, were released that hear the suspect twice report a man with a gun acting erratically and then described himself in the conversation.
The young man was said to have shot Officer Sonny Kim, 48, the first to respond to the call, before being killed in a gunfight with other officers, Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell told a news conference on Friday.
'The suspect posted on Facebook just prior to the shooting and sent several text messages to friends indicating, or demonstrating, that he was planning suicide by cop,' Blackwell said.
'I love every last one of y'all to whoever has been in my life .... You're the real mvp,' Hummons posted before calling 911.

In the call the young man is heard speaking frantically about a 'belligerent' young man 'in his early twenties' with a gun in his waistband.
He describes himself as short and when asked about the man's race he replies 'a black man, of course'.
Hummons's mother arrived on the scene right before Kim did, and tried to keep her son away from the police officer before the young man started firing, according to Cincinatti.com.
Kim, who was wearing a bullet resistant vest, was shot multiple times, Blackwell said.
Hummons was said to have fired on a county probation officer who came to Kim's aid and then wrestled Kim's service weapon from him while he was lying wounded in the street.
The suspect's mother reportedly attended to Kim as he lie on the ground dying.
Her son then used the officer's weapon to fire at a third officer, Tom Sandmann, who ended the gunfight by shooting the young man, Blackwell said.

Kim was taken along with Hummons to a local hospital where both were pronounced dead.
Blackwell said Hummons' mother told them he had been having recent troubles with a girlfriend and was not behaving like himself. .
The incident comes at a time of increased attention on shooting incidents involving U.S. police.
Kim moved to the United States from South Korea in 1973 and grew up in Chicago. He had received 22 commendations since joining the Cincinnati police in 1988, Blackwell said.
He was not supposed to be working on Friday morning and was on overtime as Cincinnati works fight an uptick in crime.
The officer is survived by his wife Jessica and three sons Timothy, Joshua and Jacob.
He was a karate instructor for more than 20 years, according to USA Today, and gave an interview last year to the martial arts magazine The Shotokan Way."

Re: "Suicide by Cop" in Cincinnati

In my opinion he should've just jumped off a bridge. Why take another persons life to end your own? Thats a cowardly act
Also i hate to even write this because it'll direct undo hatred towards me and ill be labeled a racist when in fact im the farthest thing from it. But his friends call each other ***** and nigahh like every other word. Then jump on anyone else for addressing them as the same.If you actually want to rise above the stereotype, quit calling yourselves the name you love to hate. And above all else respect yourselves and others and your real culture. Not some fake "Cultsha" of being a thug and an outlaw and pretending to be a victim. Your culture is not gang banging and calling each other *****. Its being productive members of society and respecting one another. Read a book. For fucks sake. Break the mold, go against peer pressure and actually CHANGE. You know that "erkel ass geek *****" you made fun of in school? Hes the only one actually doing something to change. Not the gangsta hard ass drop out of high school, and die at 19 thugs. Those are the ones holding people back and perpetuating the stereotype.

Re: "Suicide by Cop" in Cincinnati

There's no way they ever would have shot that dude if he was white. They would have just waited until he had emptied out his weapons into their ranks and then sent over whoever was left alive to give him a stern talking-to and tell him to never do it again.

But really, none of this would have happened if that officer hadn't had a gun for the suspect to steal. Hell, it wouldn't have happened if the officers had just not shown up. So really, we need to outlaw police officers.

No great loss to the world, it's just unfortunate he didn't have the balls to just off himself.
