Re: Stupid Sunscreen Ban in Washington State!!

I'm not going to argue with stupidity.
That's not really a good way to argue; she did back her statements up with some sources.

Also if you look at this source:
http://www.forbes.com/2008/07/28/ski...728health.html

it shows that developed countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and parts of Europe have the highest rates of skin cancer. Looking at the statistics and the science, it seems that irregular exposure to sunlight can cause cancer since developed countries usually have people spending most of their time indoors.

Re: Stupid Sunscreen Ban in Washington State!!

If you go tanning everyday for 20 minutes then yeah expect some shitty results. But it's the same as smoking, drinking and eating fast food. Do it in moderation. Excessive amounts of ANYTHING is bad.
Yes, some amt. of sun is integral to aid in the prduction of vitamin D. But I see no use for tanning lamps, unless you are a baby with jaundice. HELLO there is a sun. It's free. You can go out in it, FOR FREE. But, to each his own.

This is why I agree with taxing tanning, just like I agree with taxing cigarettes, candy, soda, fast food. Eventually you'll die. So do whatever you want to your body. But, this shit isn't necessary for life. So tax it if you will, try to educate those who overuse it or are addicted to it, and are killing themselves faster. Tanning inside, to me is just a dumb waste of money. But I waste my money on the ocasional coca-cola or ice cream sammich. So to each their own. Enjoy life your way!

BACK TO THIS POST...Let kids use sunblock. Put it on them the morning before school, if you believe they will be playing outside. Put a travel size in their backpacks and tell them to put it on before going outside. If they get in trouble for that. It'll end up on the news and people will laugh at the stupidy of it all. My kid carries chapstick in their backpack to school and puts it on. If the school were to tell me that wasn't allowed in the winter. I'd pitch one hell of a fit. Because this shit is just over the top and dumb.
