If he wins then he isn't stupid, it would be the law that's stupid. I broke my arm in an accident 6 months ago and sued and got a payout. I don't agree with doing that in principle, but hey I knew it was easy money and took advantage of a retarded set of rules. He will probably not get anything close to 10 million, but who knows, they might settle out of court for a million or even $100,000 and it would be worth it. Right now it sucks because everyone thinks he's a douche, but in a few months people won't recognise or remember and if he gets paid he has that money to spend/invest/buy a house etc. Don't hate the player, hate the game... or in this case don't hate the guy who takes advantage of the system, change the stupid system. |

The problem is that the players influence the game with frivolous lawsuits. The only reason the system is set up in such a way is because it means easy money for lawyers, which is the career in which most politicians -- or lawmakers, in other words -- start out. If people had any modicum of integrity and didn't take advantage of the system (in a way which has negative effects on all of us, I might add), then the laws would change because the lawyers would have to find another way to make their money. |

Gee, I missed that one.  People used to sleep all the time on buses and trains here. Haven't ridden them in years, thank goodness! I was amazed they woke up right before their stop like an alarm or something inside them.  |
