South African Man Arrested with Genitals in Wallet

BBC reports that the unidentified man was arrested Wednesday and taken by police to a forest in Eastern Cape, where he led them to his 18-year-old nephew's mutilated corpse. That's when they discovered his nephew's genitals in his wallet. "We found that the hands, the head and legs were cut off from the body and we then recovered the private parts in his wallet," Mzukisi Fatyela, police spokesman for the Eastern Cape Province, told AFP. The victim went missing from the town of Ngcobo on Sunday. Police aren't releasing more details, but are investigating whether the murder -- and the genital possession -- might be a "muti" killing, when witchdoctors use body parts in their potions, according to the BBC. There is reportedly a market for the illicit sale of human body parts for such purposes in South Africa. Charges are expected for the uncle. |

I certainly hope charges will be filed! That's not only nasty, it's not right! Family! I remember a serial kill, whose name I forget, who walked into a police station and put two nipples on the counter. He was a nice looking guy and had a romance with a journalist. Last I knew, he was still alive. Mrs. Dahmer may know. |

A little more info. Another source reports the victim's body parts may have been removed for sale for potions and spells. In East Africa, body parts of albinos are thought to be lucky. Hopefully, we'll get a picture by Friday when uncle is charged. Man Found With Genitals in Wallet 2012-11-08 Johannesburg - An Eastern Cape man caught with his teenaged nephew's private parts in his wallet has been arrested, police said on Thursday. The 18-year-old went missing in Thebe Locality, Nqobo, on Sunday, said Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela. "... On Wednesday the community found his private parts in his uncle's wallet. Police were then called," he said. Fatyela said the 42-year-old man took the police to Malande Forest where they found the youth's mutilated body. His head, arms and legs had been chopped off and were found not far from his torso. Earlier police said he would appear in the Nqobo Magistrate's Court on a murder charge. Fatyela said he would no longer appear on Thursday, but on Friday. Human Settlements, Safety and Liaison MEC Helen Sauls-August expressed concern about violent crime in the province. "It [is] incomprehensible that a human being would commit such a gruesome act to another human being," she said. "It's even worse that a relative could be involved in this inhumane atrocity. Families are supposed to protect each other, instead of butchering each other like this." She commended the speedy arrest. |
