Re: "Sour-Toe Cocktail" Mummified Toe Used in Canadian Drink Stolen
Canadian here, also a member of captain dicks sourtoe cocktail club and have the certificate to prove it. He cut off his toe from frostbite, it's preserved. There's actually a captain dick, he takes the toe puts it in a shot of whiskey and you have to drink it in one go while he confirms the toe touches your lips. It's not really that gross, it's literally a mummified toe. The original toe was lost and they had only one toe left because some dudes swallowed the last two. They made me sign a waiver saying I would pay 50 000 dollars if I ate it cause some men try to be special alpha snowflakes and eat it, and that dude paid the 500 so they upped it. If some tourist stole it he definitely got the shit kicked right out of him. Dawson city is a town that doesn't fuck around. Nice people, but when you walk into that bar everybody stops and stares, hell when you enter that town they all know the outsiders. There's one hotel, and NOWHERE to hide. Tons of people would have been watching him take it, he would've had to make a mad dash. Ill bet he got a beating. Also, there's actually a decent hospital there, they have a steady supply of toes.

Re: "Sour-Toe Cocktail" Mummified Toe Used in Canadian Drink Stolen
You have to understand where this place is located, Dawson City Yukon, town of 1700 people in Subarctic with months of complete darkness and then months of light a stones throw from the arctic circle. All the buildings are 19th century frontier era and there is no paved roads. Its the edge of civilization.
