I think they do it to piss people off, it doesn't piss me off, just makes me have less respect for the people responsible. It seems to me they are upset that a religious scene is allowed, and since the law protects the religious scene. They decided to use that same law to put up their scene. A scene I believe is nothing more than a protest against the religious one.

You're right, but maybe it just reminds them to express their rights. They might be opportunistic in their timing, but they still have the right.

And, at the worst, it reminds both sides that we all have these rights. Christians have a heritage of persecution, up until their predominance here in the US. For a while, they somehow suppressed the expression of others, but I'm glad the "others" can feel free to do it now. They had that right all along, but they might have been "discouraged" from doing so.

In a perfect world, nobody would give a crap about who did what. But since one religion has had a "head-start" for so many years, the others feel compelled to express themselves for perhaps the first time, freely that is.

because, as you know:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

that means, you allow one to do it, you have to allow all religions, regardless of public opinion about that religion. if muslims want to do something there, if the local aryan nations church wants something, if the satanists want something....let them if you're going to let christians do it.


....or, just honestly separate church and state by not recognizing any of the religions in government buildings. simple as.

it's easy to be united when its a sporting event or the anthem is playing....but the reality is far darker... if you call yourself a republican and won't open your eyes to democrat policies or possibilities then you can say what you want about being united, but you are divided....

I disagree with liberalism. I don't hate them. If liberals were holding a rally, I wouldn't hold another rally across the street, being extremely obnoxious, and mocking there speakers as the spoke.

Not entirely. Since my example I gave only goes to prove that we become united when we must. Most people don't walk around America holding their political beliefs up. The majority of Americans could care less about politics.
