60.4% is a significant high from the normal 52-56, Is there really any purpose to debate how much higher turn outs were? Even if it was only 1% higher, it don't change my point.  |

My whole point was to debunk the theory of blacks swaying the entire vote, as the conservatives tend to hint at. The 10% increase in black voter turnout in 2008 didn't have much effect on the numbers that have been pretty consistent. With only 13% of the population a 10 percent increase is only a maximum of 1.3% of the overall turnout.  |

It's a claim conservatives make all the time, and it's untrue. Vrist seemed to have that mindset, and I wanted to show him the actual numbers. I'm also fairly certain I could find posts you've made stating that exact thing. |
