Skydiver Ready For Supersonic Jump in Red Bull Stratos Record Bid
Note: Today’s launch has been aborted because of windy conditions. Felix Baumgartner Talks Space Jump, Red Bull’s ‘Stratos,’ Kittinger’s Record, and More It’s not Superman flying through the atmosphere—it’s Felix Baumgartner, the man expected to undertake a 23-mile space jump on Tuesday (weather permitting, that is). Pawel Szaniawski talks to the extreme athlete about the stunt, its purpose, and what it will feel like to break the sound barrier. ![]() Austrian pilot Felix Baumgartner (left) speaks with U.S. life-support engineer Mike Todd during egress training in the capsule for Red Bull Stratos on Feb. 23 in Lancaster, Calif. Re: Skydiver Ready For Supersonic Jump in Red Bull Stratos Record Bid
I watched the first sub-space jump when I stumbled upon the Brooklyn space project. What a amazing feat that will be. It also helped prove Einsteins theory of falling at sub sonic speeds and that gravity would seem non existent.
