A SIX-YEAR OLD Colombian girl has survived a fall from the 18th floor of a building in the northwestern Colombian city of Medellin.
Medical staff say the child is in a very serious but stable condition.
The incident occurred at a high-rise apartment building in Medellin's upscale El Poblado neighbourhood, and it's estimated she plunged from a height of 45 metres (about 147 feet) with nothing to break her fall.
Officials say a medical team of specialists is doing everything they can to keep the child alive.
Authorities have launched an investigation to find out exactly how the accident occurred.

I'm glad the girl survived, but, I hope it wasn't something stupid like the parents didn't have screens in the windows, which happens a lot in the US.

I like happy endings! I hope she didn't suffer any longterm injuries.

I don't mean to be a stick in the mud, but just because she's alive, doesn't mean she won't have any lasting effects from this.
She is extremely lucky to be alive, let's just hope she will be able to live somewhat of a normal life after this.
