Re: Sikh Removes Turban To Help Injured Child, Shows True Meaning Of The Religion
To those not understanding why this is such a powerful picture, I'll try my best to break it down for you. Most of these people whom wear turbans are automatically seen a terrorists and heartless uncaring people. This proves that is not always the case. All the evil we have seen with middle eastern people here on DR, I myself am shocked some of you aren't at least a little amazed by this. |

Maybe New Zealand should have a "Harman Singh" day every year in fact make it a public holiday....Honest to fuck doing the right thing makes him a hero....I too wonder if he would have done the same for a white kid?

Yes he would. This goes to demonstrate how different my country is to the rest of the world. We have and tolerate all faiths here. By and large they return the favour. Here's something else for you. My oldest brother married a Sikh and was accepted into their faith wholeheartedly despite being a Catholic and whiter than Pears soap lol. |

Re: Sikh Removes Turban To Help Injured Child, Shows True Meaning Of The Religion
For anyone saying "big deal" and " he did what people are supposed to do", not everybody is willing to help. I was about 8 when my mother fell into the TV and onto the floor, unconscious. I didn't know at the time that it was because of drugs but anyways. It freaked me the fuck out. I ran outside and screamed for someone's to come help. No words just screams because I was that panicked. My uncle and his woman had just pulled into the driveway and were no less than ten feet from me and with me screaming like a loon just looked at me as they made there way to their room in some small shack house on the property. Never checking out what was goin on. Another uncle's chick ran up from their camper to see what was goin on. Some people just don't fucking care. |

Re: Sikh Removes Turban To Help Injured Child, Shows True Meaning Of The Religion
He didn't do it for the media attention or the free furniture. The media made a big deal about it because it's very uncommon to see a Sikh remove the head dress in public, which is apparently a better known fact in NZ than it is in the UK. Would you remove your shirt to do the same for a brown kid, or a kid you knew was Muslim? Didn't think so. |
