Re: A Second Message to America
I got a chance to see the video... after all the things I've seen here on DR, they do play out as "fake" to me. We've seen so many beheadings, even with the dullest of knives still have SOME blood within the first few swipes. The most recent Sotloff video, is rather brisk in the sawing part - and no blood. I have a theory though. Both videos are extremely well-rehearsed. Perhaps there are different takes used? Somewhat like a Hollywood video to appeal to us "Westerners"? These speeches aren't just a few words - coughs, sneezes, throat clearing, word flubbing, nothing? Makes me think they've said things over and over in front of a camera... even the beheading part. Perhaps it wasn't "real" what we saw to avoid the blood spurting so they could keep the propaganda but did the beheading off camera. |

Re: A Second Message to America
Several news outlets have reported that they asked for a $132 million for James Foley. There was some women they asked 6 million for. It's also been reported that they believe around 60 journalist are captive. Some of which are American. You do the math. $300 Million is probably a low estimate.

Re: A Second Message to America
I have screen shots of the beheading if anyone wants them. Like the James Wright Foley beheading, the video shows the beginning of the beheading and cuts to black... Then it shows a shot of the severed head resting on the victims back. Just message me and give me your e-mail address and I will send you what I have. |

Re: A Second Message to America
Usatoday Details emerge about ransom, failed rescue of journalist FoleySharon Jayson and Gary Strauss New details are emerging surrounding the kidnapping and attempted military rescue of American journalist James Foley, whose beheading by the militant group Islamic State was revealed in a chilling video posted to the Internet this week. The head of GlobalPost – the U.S.-based online publication Foley was working for when he was abducted in 2012 – says Islamic extremists demanded 100 million Euros ($132.5 million) for Foley's freedom. They also e-mailed Foley's family directly days before his death. Steven Senne, AP "There was only one ransom demand,'' GlobalPost CEO Philip Balboni told USA Today Thursday night. "There was never a negotiation. They never responded with a different figure and we never stated a figure. We simply responded to that (ransom) email in a very deliberate way with the advice of our security consultants and the FBI." |
