seems to me there has got to be a better way of saving an otherwise good cop. as cops themselves they have to know an arrest is going to destroy one of their own, suicide is definitely the next natural step.

if you know someone has a problem, you take them aside and tell them so. you give them a choice between rehab and leaving the job. what they did was to destroy an entire family. they left a widow, and children without a daddy.
