Land O' Lakes, Fla. - Scott Gilbreth, a 50-year-old Florida man was jailed Tuesday after he allegedly terrorized several women with a chain saw.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, a woman was walking along Glenhaven Road when Gilbreth pulled alongside her in a truck and demanded that she "get into the (expletive) truck."
When the woman refused, Gilbreth allegedly pulled out a chainsaw, started it up and told the woman that he would cut her head off if she didn't get inside the vehicle. He then reportedly grabbed the woman by the throat and forced her into the truck.
When the woman asked where they were going, he said that they were going to his friend "Bubby's" house.
Upon arriving at the home, the woman fled the truck to seek help from someone inside the home, while Gilbreth followed behind. Three women inside the home informed Gilbreth and the woman that "Bubby" was in jail.
When one of the women confronted Gilbreth, he walked out to his truck, retrieved the chainsaw and started it up again.
"I'm going to kill you and then chop you up and throw you in the woods," Gilbreath told a woman after striking her in the face. Another woman told deputies that Gilbreth nearly cut her while swinging the chain saw around.
Gilbreth then fled the scene in his truck, backing into a dumpster on the way out.
Arriving deputies took victim statements and eventually identified who "Bubby" was, although the man refused to speak to deputies. Instead, he threatened to find Gilbreth and shoot him in the face.
Gilbreth was booked into the Pasco County Jail on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault, simple battery and burglary. The next day he was also charged with violating probation and driving with a suspended or revoked license. His bond has been set at $70,150.
