Santa Cruz Tsunami

i can see why people would be upset if they owned a boat but the "this is scary" comment?  put that woman in a waterpark and she would probably die of a heart attack just looking at the rides or watching the wave pools. omg! maybe this video should be moved to the area with the funny posts, due to its audio. omg! omg!

Having worked in Santa Cruz, I can tell you that I feel no sympathy for these morons. The boat owners had 9 hours of warning to get their boats out to sea to protect them from this. The dozens of gawkers standing around waiting for the wave have the collective IQ of a shoe. Would have served them right to all be swept off and drowned. Also, you can't surf a tsunami. Surfing waves (regular waves on shore) are surface phenomenon caused by winds and storms. Tsunamis don't have a face. It's just a big up-swelling that comes in like a wall (as in this video). If you were on a beach, you wouldn't see a breaking wave. It would just be like the tide coming in. And in...and in...and in at 50mph until it's like 3 miles inland. |
