What an absolute tragedy. I don’t think attacking someone’s beliefs, gender, preference, self-identity, looks, etc. is going to solve a damn thing. I think kids are not educated on how to be successful, how to manage their life, and how to maintain their health physically and mentally. I feel that American culture as a whole unintentionally teaches kids from a young age that you’re either successful or not, good or bad, pretty or ugly, mentally together or a wreck, with no middle ground. Most learn on their own, but some don’t. We aren’t taught to analyze and find solutions, we’re just taught to point out problems and find something or someone to blame. I think that by the time a kid becomes an adult, they’re so split on either feeling a positive extreme or a negative extreme that they can go into a sort of crisis mode, and sadly, some lose all touch with reality and become monsters. If we’re going to blame anyone for what happened, blame the shooter. Blame the shooter and let your kids know it’s ok to find middle ground, it’s ok to not be the strongest, the best, the richest, even the happiest. It’s ok to ask for help if you’re just so frustrated with life you feel like you’re going to snap. Hurting others will never help your hurt. I feel so sorry for the individuals who lost their loved ones. What a tragedy.

Many shooter’s in the past have. A friend of mine lost his dad and sister to a boy with autism who came in his house and shot them.

I also use amateur radio, by law I had to apply to the FCC with proof that I sat for two exams, and passed them with 80%+, and that process took over three months to obtain the General license. THEN, I could spend over 1K to obtain and use that radio, and this is just a souped-up CB radio, basically.

That's just a comparison, I have no idea how we fix this issue, but there is no doubt it needs to be fixed. This should not be a red vs blue thing, this should just be people wanting to protect themselves and their children from nut cases.

Do not punish law abiding citizens because of crazy criminals. Plus you can't contain 3D printers.
