Re: Salvador Ramos Commits Mass Shooting at Elementary School in TX
I don't think the issue is to remove the guns, or take them away, in my opinion this has everything to do with access. They are just way too easy to obtain. I own an AR-15, I just walked into a store, picked the one I wanted, and was gone 20 minutes later. I also use amateur radio, by law I had to apply to the FCC with proof that I sat for two exams, and passed them with 80%+, and that process took over three months to obtain the General license. THEN, I could spend over 1K to obtain and use that radio, and this is just a souped-up CB radio, basically. That's just a comparison, I have no idea how we fix this issue, but there is no doubt it needs to be fixed. This should not be a red vs blue thing, this should just be people wanting to protect themselves and their children from nut cases.

Getting rid of the NRA would be a step in the right direction, they wield way too much power.

Re: Salvador Ramos Commits Mass Shooting at Elementary School in TX
Funny thing is, “non gun supporters” think the NRA has too much power. But gun enthusiasts tend to denigrate the NRA for not having enough backbone. Truth is, there’s no amount of new laws that will prevent this from happening, making guns illegal, destroying huge numbers of guns, etc. won’t do anything in this country because the punishment is laughable. In other countries, the demographic is largely programmed from birth to follow the rules. In America, our whole existence is based on pushing the limits of social norms, both parties support this is different directions. More importantly, bad guys aren’t afraid of the justice system, and why should they be? They get sentenced to death and have 40-50 years on death row, or they get life and become a celebrity in jail. This isn’t a political problem, and it’s not a gun problem- in fact, guns are the scapegoat- this is a societal problem. People are taught to both push the boundaries of what is considered normal by society, and also shown that “going too far” doesn’t lead to severe enough punishment. You can’t have it both ways. Taking guns won’t make it stop. New laws won’t make it stop. Enforcing the laws we already have is the only way to stop this kind of event. P.s. I’d bet 5 bucks the FBI will release a report that they already had info on the shooter but didn’t act on it. |

I don't have one, I have many and can manufacture more. I served as a Marine and there's 20 years of combat veterans that will take up arms along side me. I won't accomplish anything, but it only took 3 percent and privately owned arms to overthrow the English monarchy. I will aquire arms from sympathizers and supply others. Fuck being helpless. Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and currently Ukraine clearly demonstrate superior firepower means very little when your people take up arms to defend their homes.
