Context is everything. In the film Crowe was trying to emulate an English accent. Not sure which one. He was a bit off since he is from New Zealand and his pride got rankled a bit. The interviewer is trying to rile him up and got the reaction he was looking for. Still Crowe did the accent better than any one else would have done it. It took me a couple years living in the gulf coast of south east USA to learn the simplest basic accent so I could quit being questioned about where I was from. And worse is when you get caught trying to blend in. So the trick is to just have a slight accent and not go all out. Russell Crowe has little patience for stupid journalists. |

NEW YORK — Russell Crowe was arrested and charged Monday for allegedly throwing a telephone at an employee of the Manhattan hotel where he was staying. Crowe, 41, who plays a boxer in his latest film, “Cinderella Man,” allegedly threw the phone at the concierge at the Mercer Hotel in SoHo, “hitting him in the face and causing a laceration and substantial pain,” according to the complaint. The Australian movie star was arraigned on charges of second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon — the telephone — before Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Martin Murphy. The assault charge is punishable by seven years in prison. “This arose because he was trying to get his wife on the phone in Australia,” his lawyer, Gerald Lefcourt, told reporters earlier outside the police precinct where Crowe was booked. “He was in his room. He couldn’t get a line and there was a disagreement.” |

I am not an actor and I had the Spanish accent down to a fucking art form, I lived there for a few years, this fucking clown SPEAKS ENGLISH and IS an actor but still can't do an accent? yes GREAT fucking actor, he is arrogant so fucking live with it, I have little patience for assholes with delusions of grandeur, who the fuck does he think he is, he pretends for a living WOW.
