A couple dining at a Red Lobster restaurant outside Albany, N.Y., were surprised to find a bizarrely offensive note written on their takeout container, the Times Union reports.

Cherry Ryan and her husband were eating dinner at the Colonie seafood restaurant when they had what seemed like a pretty minor argument with their waiter over the bill.

When the couple looked at their takeout box the next day, they were "shocked and disturbed" to find the words “Rooster & Bitch Box” (or “Boy”) written across the top, according to the report.


When reached for comment by the Times Union's Steve Barnes, the chain restaurant passed the complaint along to corporate. Red Lobster spokeswoman Heidi Schauer eventually responded, saying that the general manager had reached out to the couple to apologize.

obviously we dont know what went on but I never understood why people are rude to staff at a resturant. people speak to them as if they are sub humans then eat the food they serve!!? Its like calling your dentist a cunt just before he gets out the needle and drill

I used to work as a cashier at a tesco while I attended university to pay the rent and no day passed without me being insulted in one way or another at least 2-3 times and many people were just douches usually over literally nothing (e.g: my greeting didnt sound honest to the customer at 6 in the morning at the end of my night shift).

People just love to project their own complexes and frustrations on those who at the moment cant do jack shit about it, so even without actually knowing what was going on in that restaurant, Im gonna side with the staff. I cant help being biased this time...

I know how annoying customers can be but I also know there are employee's who are very precious when it comes to disagreements and the like.

They get all riled up, one guy I knew turned red if he got angry. I shit you not!

On a more serious note, whenever I'm at a restaurant I'm always respectful of the staff especially the waiter, I don't feel like eating boogers.

I'm always respectful to anyone serving me, even in supermarkets etc. In my local co-op the women often get bawled at as the queue is always massive. Not their fault that the shop gets so busy, blame management for not putting on enough tills.
I've worked there and it's manic. Especially around the time of school opening/closing.
Different if they yack away for hours though while serving.

I'm always very nice to people who make my food. Because in the end, they have plenty of private time with your food.
