You never know what you'll get on the end of a fishing line with all the trash and chemicals dumped into bodies of water!

After the Frankenfish, cannot say I'm surprised at much anymore.

It said they eventually threw it back.
Hopefully it survived being dredged up from the bottom then being hung upside down for who knows how long.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel on the shrimp aren't they.

Another rare deep water fish washed up on the shores, this time North Carolina. A Lancet fish. It makes u wonder if this happenings are due to global climate change or if we are just more connected thru the internet therefore more likely to hear/see stories such as these.

Re: Rare 18 Foot Goblin Shark Caught Off Coast of Key West, Florida

A few factors play into this, first the oceans are getting emptier and emptier like someone said above scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Also connectivity also point out above and education knowing what is common what is rare and not just tossing it back to the water. I mean its only in the last 10 years its really been possible to take a photo with the hd camera you now have with you in your pocket at all times.

Climate change, pollution this that you name it all obviously plays a role but id go with the above two as the main reasons.
