Re: Is Public Shaming Enough "Punishment" for Beating a Woman?
Is this really her decision to make? If the police have evidence of a physical assault, it doesn't matter if she presses charges or not. We have a picture posted of her injuries and a picture of him sitting with the dunce cap and sign. Not to mention the facebook conversation. Sounds like if they choose to arrest this pos, they have all the evidence they need.

Re: Is Public Shaming Enough "Punishment" for Beating a Woman?
not really. The only way you could press charges in a case like this was if it happened in public. Then it would be a public order type charge. thanks to the witnesses. I live in london and we have 'affray'. It comes from the 'puiblic disorder act 1984' I think section 3 and is defined as 'using or threatening unlawful violence that caused some one of resonable firmness present at the scene to fear for his or her saftey' that would be used. However this didnt happen in public. There are no witnesses here willing to give evidence. no crime reported by anyone. So with that in mind in answer to the question 'is public shaming enough for beating a women?' (ignoring the sexual assault part) NO. If you decide to forgo the judical system and implement you own justice then this guy should have at least got a beating or a bullet to the knee |
