Piper had hoped to have a full-time career in the media, but in March 2008 sulphuric acid was thrown in her face. The attack, which blinded Piper in one eye, was arranged by Piper's ex-boyfriend, Daniel Lynch, and carried out by an accomplice, Stefan Sylvestre. Lynch and Sylvestre were arrested and are serving life sentences in prison for their crimes.

Lynch received two life sentences, and will serve a minimum of 16 years, Sylvestre received a life sentence, and will serve a minimum of 12 years.

She was an absolutely beautiful woman and I cannot condemn her for taking her own life as I have not walked in her shoes. I feel very badly for her that life became so much to handle that death was her only relief. The bastard that did this to her need's to pay severely, but I doubt that seem's likely to happen.
