Police near Chicago have confirmed that they are "seeking to check" on the well-being of singer Sinead O'Connor, who was last seen on Sunday shortly before she went on a bike ride.

The "Nothing Compares 2 You" singer was last seen yesterday in the suburb of Wilmette. According to the Wilmette Police Department, "O’Connor reportedly left the Wilmette area for a bicycle ride yesterday at 6:00 AM and has not returned. A caller has expressed concern for her well-being and no other information is available at this time.”

O'Connor, 49, recently made scathing accusations against TV host Arsenio Hall in relation to Prince's death. Hall responded by suing the singer for $5 million for defamation.

O'Connor, in turn, replied to the lawsuit by calling it "laughable." "I'm more amused than I've ever dreamed a person could be and look forward very much to how hilarious it will be watching him trying to prove me wrong," she wrote.

Shortly before the bike ride, O'Connor posted on Facebook about her son Jake. "Do not abandon your brother or any other of my babies again," she wrote in a rambling post.

The singer has been married four times and has four children. She's put together 10 studio albums, including one billed as her comeback in 2014, "I'm not Bossy, I'm the Boss." The album hit No. 1 in her native Ireland and No. 83 on the Billboard Top 200.

A rep for the singer added that there's no information about O'Connor "at this time. But, will keep you posted."

Sinead O'connor Found Safe After Going Missing In Wilmette

WILMETTE, Ill. (WLS) -- Singer Sinead O'Connor has been found safe after going missing in Chicago's north suburbs.

Wilmette police confirmed O'Connor went on a bike ride Sunday at 6 a.m. and did not return. She was reported located around 2 p.m. Monday.

A caller to Wilmette police asked for authorities to check on O'Connor's well-being check after she failed to return.

Police refused to release any further information.

Two hours after O'Connor went on her bike ride, her official Facebook page had a vague, rambling post added to it:

Jake, kindly go to the court on Tuesday and take custody your brother from Tusla. My lawyer will be making the illegal way yourself and Donal got him into Tusla (lying to the cops etc) known to the judge. expect to be in trouble. In fact you'd best bring a lawyer of your own. And do not abandon your brother or any other of my babies again. What you have done to your brother and your mother is LITERALLY criminal.

It's unclear what the post means.

It's unknown why O'Connor was in the north suburbs last weekend. O'Connor performed with Buddy Guy in January. O'Connor was also at Metro Chicago on the North Side in March. She was performing in honor of the owner Joseph Shanahan.

Earlier this month, Arsenio Hall filed a $5 million defamation lawsuit against O'Connor for claiming that the comedian supplied drugs to Prince.

The lawsuit calls O'Connor's accusations "despicable, fabricated lies" and adds that "O'Connor is now known perhaps as much for her bizarre, unhinged Internet rants as for her music."

O'Connor, whose biggest hit was a 1990 reworking of the Prince song "Nothing Compares 2 U," posted on her Facebook page about a week after Prince's death that he was a "long time hard drug user."

"Two words for the DEA investigating where prince got his drugs over the decades.... Arsenio Hall," O'Connor posted on May 2.

She added: "Arsenio I've reported you to the Carver County Sherrif's office. Expect their call. They are aware you spiked me years ago at Eddie murphy's house."

Hall's suit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court said he had "minimal contact" with O'Connor, last seeing her 25 years ago. He said he never supplied illegal drugs to Prince and did not spike O'Connor with drugs either.

The lawsuit also claims that O'Connor only met Prince a few times and "detested" him and "spat on him quite a bit," so was in no position to know about anyone supplying drugs to him.
