Police Find Drugs, Guns at Fort Mohave Residence
FORT MOHAVE — A Fort Mohave man has been arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking after a search warrant was executed at his home. Nicholas Joaquin Oronoz, 27, was arrested for suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotic drugs, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of misconduct with weapons. Oronoz was the subject of a warrant served by the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team, according to Bullhead City Police Department spokeswoman Emily Montague. MAGNET officers served the warrant Friday morning in the 4400 block of Calle Agrada in Fort Mohave. Oronoz was observed driving away from the residence minutes before the team executed the search warrant for entry into the home. Oronoz was pulled over and arrested and his vehicle, also included in the search warrant, was examined. According to Montague, police found a glass pipe with burnt marijuana residue, a usable amount of marijuana and a partially burnt marijuana cigarette. Police reportedly found a prescription-only pill in Oronoz’s pocket. A search of the residence reportedly uncovered three individual packages of cocaine, totalling approximately 31⁄2 grams, numerous baggies of marijuana, totalling 53 grams, and two small crystalline rocks folded in a piece of paper. The rocks field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Also found were several narcotic prescription-only pills and several pieces of drug paraphernalia associated with marijuana and methamphetamine. Police also found an AK-47 assault rifle and two loaded pistols. Oronoz is prohibited from possessing a firearm. Oronoz was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman. The Arizona Department of Public Safety’s Gang and Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission and the Bullhead City Police Department’s Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving unit also assisted with the arrest and search warrant. |
