Re: Police Clear Sydney CBD After Gunman Holds Hostages at Lindt Chocolat Cafe
This should have been dealt with much sooner, it has only shown how weak this nation is with dealing with such situations, also... any extremist fuck out there better take note, don't underestimate us. Snipers had clear shots all fuckin day, yet it was drawn out for ages... Remember the 1980 London Iranian Embassy Siege, the British SAS and support crew performed excellently at handling the situation, the Australian SASR or CDO TAG units should have been bought in, no fucking around, it sent a strong signal. Now watch as more new laws and restrictions are placed upon this nation in reaction to this incident, everyone will forget about how bad the Abbott government is fairing... The geopolitical census and mindset of our species evolves quickly day by day, much of Australia and the free western population are blind to how barbaric we can become to our own kind. I hope that a peaceful future lays ahead for humanity, yet day by day my hope fades with how we treat one another. |

Re: Police Clear Sydney CBD After Gunman Holds Hostages at Lindt Chocolat Cafe
This. Those police look seriously un-organized blasting guns off like that, I should imagine that's a scare tactic...anyone would think there's 20 terrorists in there. But the police had gathered so much intelligence, they had everything they needed to know so it's such a shame they dealt with the situation the way they did... The police have just gone in there with a ''no risk'' type of attitude, and that's the difference between the police, and Special Forces. The Special Forces would've just thrown in a flash bang, storm in, identify the target, then bang, target down. |

Re: Police Clear Sydney CBD After Gunman Holds Hostages at Lindt Chocolat Cafe
what if they did sniper the animal - the bullet would have hit the glass and this would have changed the bullet direction on impact and could have hit anyone... however in saying that i do agree that the knee jerk reaction was pretty amateurish of the force. if people could sneak out so easily i do not understand why the force couldnt sneak in as easy.. anyway hindsite is a wonderful thing |

You have 3 snipers. 1 or 2 to hit the glass. 1 to or 2 to hit the perp. |

Re: Police Clear Sydney CBD After Gunman Holds Hostages at Lindt Chocolat Cafe
Just going to add: The reason they didn't shoot first is because the gunman said that he had four explosive devices planted around the Sydney area, and that (at least) one of them was inside a hospital. He said that if they tried to come in and take him by force, he'd detonate them. Luckily (but not for the two hostages who were killed), this turned out not to be true. They went in and shot the guy after they heard the gunshot which killed Tori Johnson. As the police went in and tried to take the guy down, he shot Katrina Dawson as well, as she was protecting her pregnant friend. Then they got him. |
