Re: Police Car Appears to Blast 'Sweet Home Alabama' at Protest
I don't know. I really don't see how one could call the song racist. Alabama is also considered to be the home of the civil rights movement. So the song isn't racist, it's appropriate. If you consider like many do, this a civil rights movement. I'd like to have clarity. First, was it just an accident? It's possible the cop was unaware his loud speaker was on. He may have been using the loud speaker, and just left it on with his mic keyed. Doubtful, but that shit happens. Second, I'd like to know if other songs were also played over the speaker. But let's remember, the song was a response to Neil Young for calling the south racist. So obviously the song was made to refute that. |

I don't think the song is racist, maybe playing that particular song was in bad taste but not racist. The playing of the music over the loud speaker regardless of what that music was, is the issue. It could have been unintentional for a few seconds, but you can hear your loudspeaker blasting. If that was the case another officer would have come and told him his PA was on. |

Sounds like the start to a joke.. So an asian and a hispanic cop start playing sweet home alabama on their cars PA... Yeah I dgaf about racist undertones as I said, I think it's more just a tard move to incite a crowd of protesters protesting against the unjust brutality they believe the organization you work for is perpetrating. |

And none of that proves this particular airing wasn't motivated by race, but like it or not, the song basically says "we're proud to be a bunch on confederate white trash and fuck you if ya don't like it...funny, not a single mention of the Crimson Turd.

Refute? Lol, it's a response alright but it refutes nothing. It basically says "we're a bunch if inbred mullet wearin' crackers who're waiting in our pickups and double-wides for the south to rise again!" But thanks for expressing your version of logic nik, it's always interesting to see you stretch the levels of incredulity. |
