Wow. I didn't hear about this till now nor did I know he was Anthony Quinn's son.

DailyBreeze.comAuthorities say actor Francesco Quinn, the son of Academy Award-winner Anthony Quinn, has died. He was 48.

Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. James Royal says Quinn was walking home from a store with his son when he collapsed Friday on the Malibu street where he lived.

He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

His agent, Arlene Thornton, tells the Los Angeles Times that Quinn apparently died of a heart attack but the cause of death hasn't been officially determined.

Quinn had a supporting role in the Oscar-winning movie "Platoon" and appeared in the television shows "JAG," "24" and "The Shield."

He was born in Rome. His mother was a wardrobe assistant who met his Anthony Quinn on the set of the film "Barabbas" and later married him.

A small funeral service was held on Thursday (11Aug11) at St. Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, where his actress widow Valentina Castellani and son Max were joined by family and friends, including CSI: Miami star Sofia Milos.
