Re: Phoenix Detective Killed in Shootout PHOENIX (KSAZ) - In 12 hours the lives of 2 valley families were changed forever. Police believe Andrew Rael shot and killed two people before he was killed in a shootout with DPS officers. Authorities say the first victim was a tow truck driver in Buckeye, Mike Psalidas. Hours later a convenience store employee, Scott White, was killed near 99th Ave. & Camelback. Psalidas was to marry his fiancee Suzanne Lamonte in just two months. "He didn't deserve it because I'm here struggling here every day thinking Mike will be home or he's going to be here to see him and nobodies here," said Lamonte. The brother of AM-PM store clerk, 31 year-old Scott White said they had asked him to quit because the job was dangerous. "He did what he had to do to put money in the bank to take care of his family," said Robert White. "It's kind of our job to protect him and then yet you wake up one day and he's gone," said White. The store is raising money for the family. Glendale Police told the family that unprovoked, 25 year-old Andrew Rael shot and killed White as he stood outside the convenience store he worked at early Monday morning. "I don't even got to ask him why, I don't think he would know, I think he just wanted to kill people and he was going to keep doing it," said White's brother Robert. DPS Highway Patrol officers shot and killed Rael during a gunfight on US 60 Monday morning. Good riddance said LaMonte concerning Rael, "I don't understand. I'm glad you're dead. You know what, if it was me I'd be out there looking for you," she said. The family has set up a fund at all Wells Fargo Bank, ask to give to the Scott White Donation Fund. |
