Parents Arrested on Child Abuse Charge
BULLHEAD CITY — The the parents of an 11-year-old girl were arrested Thursday after officials at her school reported bruising on her body. Charles Jackson III, 30, and Amber Chanel Isaacs, 28, were booked on a child abuse charge after a local elementary school contacted the School Resource Officer Wednesday about a bruise on her face. The girl reportedly said her stepfather had hit her in the head with a belt, and showed the officer additional bruises on her legs. She reportedly told police that he has previously hit her with a belt on the legs. Police also talked to the girl’s 8-year-old brother, who reportedly said his father also hit him and that he had an old scar on his back as a result. Child Protective Services was notified and the case was forwarded to detectives for further investigation. The school reported Thursday that the girl had marks on her arm consistent with being struck with a belt. She reportedly said that her mother had gotten angry at her Wednesday night and hit her with a belt. The parents were booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman. CPS took custody of their children. |
