basic dna tests can be done for specific known markers within a few hours....unless they knew EXACTLY which markers they were searching for, it could take much longer ( from a knowledgable fBI employee NOT ME!!!!!!)

In this case, Im sure (I THINK, that is) that they had as much DNA data from as many family members as they could possibly get (from different sides of the family)....thus a HUGE chance....It's a good thing.
