I once dated this guy who worked with the navy and trained marine mammals (seals, dolphins, octipi) to assist the navy for particular missions (spy cams, bomb detection, information/material retrieval). According to the navy, it's cheaper than super weapons and soldiers. They do know how to communicate with other species already. If they are not useful in battle, then there is no need to waste money on them. Human rights are a joke. How can one give rights if the species doesn't give rights to its own?
