Re: Opium Production in Afghanistan
Now you are talking about some real drug abuse. Kids are too ignorant and impulsive to use drugs. That crap in Russia that they call Krokodile... Desomorphine. I used that most of last year when I was working. But I use it according to instructions. I wasn't trying to "get high". Just alleviate the pain that makes it hard to work. And when I would return to the doctor they would ask me about results. I think drugs have good uses. Kids playing around with needles and having no idea about dosage vs body weight is just asking to die. Still, wouldn't mind trying some opium just to see how it feels. |

Re: Opium Production in Afghanistan
In my whole life, I have only ever been able to have about half of a very small hit of real opium. Even in such a small amount, it was...superb. I was never able to find any after that which is probably just as well being that it is addictive. |

Re: Opium Production in Afghanistan
if i remember correctly, under taliban rule, afghanistan produced 86 tons of opium in the year 2000. The last statistic I saw was for 2006, under coalition rule afghanistan produced just under 4200 tons that year making it the new chart topper amongst opium producing countries. And as much as we in the West have tried to synthesize enough opiates to meet our medical demands, the fact is we need the morphine, codeine, papaverine and thebaine that these flowers produce, because we cannot synthesize this shit half as efficiently as the opium poppy does. That is the reason we are there, coz if the afghans dont produce it, then Iran most definitely will, and they'll get all the money instead of our governments.
