OPP squad raids wrong home, terrifies man Ontario Provincial Police tactical squad gave an Arnprior, Ont., man a terrifying wakeup call Friday, bursting into his home and holding him at gunpoint before realizing they’d entered the wrong address. The team was looking to arrest an alleged drug dealer in possession of weapons when they stormed Steven Carrigan’s apartment before 7 a.m. armed with a stun grenade and rifles. Carrigan was jolted awake by the sound of a stun grenade smashing through his window and exploding on his son’s bed. “It was loud, like ‘boom! boom!’ ” recalled Carrigan. Fortunately, his 19-year-old was not home at the time. “That would have done some serious damage to my son.” Carrigan said several officers broke down his door, pulled him naked out of bed and held him at gunpoint. 'There’s 20 of them. They couldn’t get the right place?' Resident Steven Carrigan “They were like, ‘Don’t move! Don’t move!’ And then he says a name.” It was at that point that Carrigan realized it was a case of mistaken identity. “I said, ‘No. My name is Steven. Not the name you called.’ “ The suspect police were looking for, it turned out, lived in the apartment below. Upon realizing the error, police arrested and charged the neighbour, a 24-year-old man, with possession of a prohibited weapon and marijuana. OPP lauds mission in release Although it was mission accomplished for the police, Carrigan was in no celebratory mood. “Just angry!” he said. “I haven’t had a parking ticket in 20 years. They’ve got to get it right. There’s 20 of them. They couldn’t get the right place?” An OPP spokesperson now admits the officers slipped up, though an initial OPP press release called the mission a success. |

you should post proper article titles and source links. without a proper title it makes the articles not pop up in the search. having proper titles will reduce the likelyhood of reposts. having sources also validates the articles |

Um, all you have to do is name the title something that has to do with the story and link the website you got it from. It's really easy and not a lot of trouble. Makes things a hell of a lot easier to find.  |

Gutts ain't saying what he's saying to be a dick. He's saying it for the benefit of the forum and the navigation factor of this section. When your dealing with news and current events people are going to A- want to know this information comes from a reputable source B- the topic or content cause if they have a thread they want to post and see it already made they can save time and add to that. Which even if they didn't would get done by a mod anyway. C- it prevents multiple threads we have to sift through reading the same shit over and over again. He's not telling you to do it NOW. Hes giving you advice to make yours and his time here a little less encumbered. Now if you think posting a descriptive topic and adding a link to your thread is asking to much well he's right. If you cared about the forum it's a no brainer. If your a lazy sack of shit that couldn't be bothered to make it all more streamlined for the rest of us I agree. Fuck off and go play in the WC. |
