Re: Omar Khadr Wins Bail
This might not make me very popular, but I still feel that the biggest casualty on 9/11 was our rights as citizens The patriot act, the NSA surveillance....... And even what makes us different, the right to a fair trial, with a jury of our peers, it's the absolute foundation of our way of life. It seems that since 9/11, we've lowered ourselves to their standard to some degree, we've given away what makes our way of life better Think about it- if someone 20 years ago told you that every piece of communication you had with anyone was being filtered by the government, you'd probably think it wasn't possible. Now here we are, slowly headed towards a totalitarian police state. |

Re: Omar Khadr Wins Bail
An interesting documentary from CBC on how Omar Khadr came to be in Guatanamo. Highly recommended to anyone following the case. The U.S. vs Omar Khadr |

Re: Omar Khadr Wins Bail
Anyone who is truly into justice would accept this verdict. He was a victim of a shady military judicial process that trampled his rights to a fair trial. He was held without charges for almost 8 years in the deepest, darkest hole in Gitmo, most likely because any case against him would not stick in a civilian court.
