A Mary Esther man said he used a handgun, bow and arrow, and a large knife to kill his 65-year old mother because she "stole his diamonds and also gave his father cancer" and was going to kill him as well, according to an arrest report from the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.

Michael Watkins, 42, was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with first-degree premeditated murder and resisting arrest without violence.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a home on Avon Lane about 2:48 a.m. Sunday morning in reference to a man knocking over the caller's Christmas decorations and yelling at another person.

When an Okaloosa County Sheriff's deputy responded to the home where the caller reported the argument had taken place, he noticed a woman who would be later identified as 65-year-old Gloria Watkins slumped forward in a chair with arrows sticking out of her head.

Watkins emerged from the house with a large knife on his belt and was ordered to the ground. Watkins initially complied, but then got up, picked up a small dog and began pointing at his mother saying, "You see that, that's death."

Watkins was again ordered to the ground and initially complied before standing back up and retrieving the large knife from its sheath. Watkins eventually threw away the knife but physically resisted deputies as they tried to handcuff him. Watson was tased twice before he was successfully detained.

Watkins said he killed his mother because she was going to kill him and that he was not remorseful for doing so.

Once at the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office booking facility, Watkins said he shot his mother three times in the head, and that he used a handgun, then a bow and arrow, then a large knife.

An autopsy of Gloria Watkins will be conducted by the Medical Examiner's Office.

That is horrid. A brain so fucked up that he kills his own mom. I feel sorry for the whole family for the hell they have most likely endured for decades. The guy lives in a hell (I'm guessing) every day of his life. What the fuck do you do? Prison, treatment, execution? Damn.
