Hi all, I'm pretty sure this is my first post.

Anyway Gilberto Valle wanted to be a 'professional' kidnapper, and wanted to keep at least one woman 'over a low heat, keep her alive as long as possible'. He kept files on about 100 women, including photographs, personal information like addressses, and offered to kidnap these said women for sums of money to interested parties.

I was wondering whether anybody here had heard of this already... or knew where I could find out more from sources other than news websites. I'm particularly interested in those parts of the internet where such 'interested parties' go. The darkest Internet I ever saw was old 4chan like Ogrish and eFukt and whatnot.

If you're a cop, shouldn't you be smarter than to use the Internet to plan your crimes?

I've realized that in retrospect, but I'm pretty sure that's where I saw that video of the Kenyan Witch Burnings, which are at least sufficient material for a mid-tier doom metal album, but I digress.

As is usually the case, there are ALWAYS signs that are ignored early on. For instance, it should have gotten someone's attention when he changed the motto on the side of his car.

It went from "To protect and serve" to "To cook and serve". Lol.

But seriously, this case bothers me. As fucked up as he obviously is, there are some bothersome things going on with this case. First and foremost he is being held without bail for crimes that he didn't commit.

I'll be the first to say, he needs to be committed, but what does a case like this tell us about the coming future of "crime fighting"?

It's the best example of a "minority report" type crime that I have seen so far. For instance, just the other day this asshole pissed me off. I made the statement in front of a few people that I should kick his ass.

In the future could that result in me being arrested for a "planned assault". Or if in the heat of the moment you say something like "I'm going to kill so and so..., could you be put into prison for "preplanned murder"?

Think I'm exaggerating? Then you nothing of how the legal system works (or should I say doesn't work?).
