Re: NY Teen Joseph Beer Convicted: 4 Friends Dead
In my former life as an insurance advisor, we had a parent call and ask if we could insure their kid. I have no clue why his quotes were so high, but they had been quoted, and this is not a word of a lie, $250,000.00 (two hundred and fifty thousand) for one year. We refused the business. The advisor that had spoken to the parent called them back and they had found a one year policy for $50,000.00 (fifty thousand). They paid it. My kid would be walking and have a bus pass in his wallet. |

Re: NY Teen Joseph Beer Convicted: 4 Friends Dead
long time lurker/occasional poster. This happened right by my house. the whole entire stretch of highway is a death trap. All the parkways were designed by robert moses before cars went this fast, and was designed to be "scenic" for the wealthy and low overpasses so its a very winding stretch. Ive traveled that road my whole life, and 31 years later i still wouldnt go more than 65 on it. It just so happens that where this jackass crashed its a blind hill into a blind curve.. he is not the first and wont be the last..

Thanks for the info and history. Because of the historical aspect, they probably won't close it or straighten it out, right?
